Dr. Matos is a senior structural engineer at Jacobs with more than 25 years of experience. He has extensive experience in modeling complex, long-span, and feature bridges, computational mechanics, bridge aerodynamics, and developing high-performance finite element code. He has worked on designing major projects like the Lewis & Clark Cable Stayed Bridge, the Hastings Bridge, and the California High-Speed Rail. Dr. Matos is a member of the Committee of Cable-Supported Bridges of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and he has authored several peer-reviewed papers on computational fracture mechanics and the dynamics of vehicle-structure interaction. Dr. Matos holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he is a licensed professional engineer and structural engineer in California.
